Mary Carpenter is the President of the Midwest Region for PHD, a global media agency network that is part of the Omnicom Group. Her team creates and implements advertising investment strategies for major marketers including SC Johnson, Hormel Foods, Kohler and Porsche. A veteran media agency executive, Mary was previously part of the leadership team at WPP’s Mindshare, and spent more than 20 years at Leo Burnett and Starcom MediaVest Group in Chicago and Detroit. Her roles there included leadership positions with Starcom, SMG Performance Marketing, and GM Planworks - the agency’s dedicated business unit for General Motors. She was named one of the Leading Women in the Automotive Industry by Automotive News in 2005, and was honored as an Advertising Working Mother of the Year by Working Mother Magazine in 2008.
