Chief Strategy Officer - We Are Unlimited

James is a 20-year craftsman in the business of turning insights into sharp powerful strategies. At his core, James is a consumer champion, data whisperer and business results agent. He brings his skills to bear on a broad range of blue-chip brands and their challenges -- from burgers to beer, stocks to semi-conductors, telecommunications to tires, cars to credit cards and skincare to software. He also regularly lends his insights on consumers and brands to the business press, and was an expert commentator on the CNBC one-hour special report, “The Oprah Effect.”

James brings to every challenge a passion and persistence to uncover the insight that will tighten the bond between consumers and brands, drive purchase behavior and in turn create sustainable business success for his clients. He has won numerous effectiveness and creativity awards for brands such as Microsoft, McDonald’s, Michelin, Anheuser-Busch/InBev, General Motors, and State Farm.

In January 2018, James was named Chief Strategy Officer of We Are Unlimited and oversees the agency’s integrated strategic model. Prior to joining BBDO, James was the Chief Strategic Officer at HAVAS Chicago, overseeing all integrated strategic and analytic services.

James was born in Burma, is fluent in Chinese Mandarin, was raised and educated in Boston, and currently lives in Chicago with his wife. During those precious instances when he isn’t traversing time zones to meet business demands, James likes to drive fast cars and drive cars fast.
