Mary Carpenter is the President of the Midwest Region for PHD, a global media agency network that is part of the Omnicom Group. Her team creates and implements advertising investment strategies for major marketers including SC Johnson, Hormel Foods, Kohler and Porsche. A veteran media agency executive, Mary was previously part of the leadership team at WPP’s Mindshare, and spent more than 20 years at Leo Burnett and Starcom MediaVest Group in Chicago and Detroit. Her roles there included leadership positions with Starcom, SMG Performance Marketing, and GM Planworks - the agency’s dedicated business unit for General Motors. She was named one of the Leading Women in the Automotive Industry by Automotive News in 2005, and was honored as an Advertising Working Mother of the Year by Working Mother Magazine in 2008.

Magen Hanrahan is the VP of Media and Marketing Services for the Kraft Heinz Company. She is responsible for helping Kraft Heinz drive profitable growth through collaboration with KHC’s marketing teams along with agency and vendor partners. Media is a family business for Magen, as her father worked on both the media and brand side and her sister currently works for Publicis Media in New York. Prior to her current role, Magen ran the Kraft Heinz account as an SVP at Starcom, so she knows the business from every angle. She is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and has spent the past 17+ years building her personal brand in media.

Sanjiv Gajiwala

Sanjiv Gajiwala is Senior Vice President of Marketing for Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co, the leader in the Flavored Malt Beverage category. Throughout his tenure at Mike’s, Sanjiv has championed the company’s evolution from traditional media channels towards millennial-centric platforms in digital, social and experiential marketing. In addition, he has helped to drive sustained year-over-year growth through new product and brand innovation, including White Claw Hard Seltzer the #1 Hard Seltzer, mike’s HARDER, the #1 FMB Single Serve.

Sanjiv’s previous experience includes 5 years with Pabst Brewing Company, where he supported the renaissance of the flagship Pabst Blue Ribbon through dynamic grassroots marketing and consumer campaigns, as well as reinvigorating additional brands in the portfolio. He has significant experience in digital media with positions at the Walt Disney Internet Group as well launching a global online gaming platform.

Matt Schweers is the Digital & Relationship Marketing Manager for Porsche Cars North America at the US headquarters for Porsche in Atlanta. He and his team manages all aspects of digital media, digital creative, .com and innovation for Porsche at the brand and tier one level in the US. Prior to joining the Porsche team in 2014, Matt enjoyed stints with Starwood Hotels, working on the W, St. Regis and Westin brands and with the Atlanta Hawks serving in a digital and fan development role. Named a top 40 under 40 in 2016 by Brand Innovators, Matt is a graduate of Kennesaw State University and has spent his entire career in the digital space with a guiding principle of only working on brands or for companies that he is passionate about.

Gwen's career has been devoted to heightening brand connections throughout the retail environment as consumers move closer to purchase.

For the past 14 years, Gwen has run The Store at WPP, the world-leading communications services group. WPP companies include some of the most eminent agencies in the business of advertising, media, PR, branding, data analytics and research.

At The Store, Gwen is responsible for extending WPP’s leadership in retail innovation and supporting global resources for WPP group companies across the Americas and Australasia. The Store serves over 150 WPP companies and their clients, which include Coca-Cola, Ford, Microsoft, Target and Walmart International, to name a few. Gwen is charged with identifying issues and trends most important to retailers and brands around the world.

In 2010, she led a multi-year study to analyze the capabilities and risk taking of retailers in highly volatile, fast growth markets. This involved extensive field work and top level retailer interviews in South Africa, Turkey, Peru, Brazil, and China. The initiative was funded by Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council in Latin America.

Gwen started her career in Advertising and worked 10 years at Foote, Cone and Belding and also at Young & Rubicam. She was Managing Director of a retail strategy and design unit at Frankel, that was subsequently merged into Leo Burnett.

Gwen promotes best practices throughout the retail marketing community and has written numerous articles for business publications including Harvard BusinessReview, Brand Week, and Journal of Brand Strategy where she serves on the editorial board. Her views on retail have been quoted in TheWall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Business Week. Based in Chicago, Gwen is a speaker at many international events including the National Retail Federation. She is also a guest lecturer at Northwestern University, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the University of Arizona’s Center for Retailing, and University of Indiana’s Kelley School of Business.

Last year, Gwen launched an iTunes U channel to promote leading thinking in Retail Brand Strategy and Innovation. All lectures are carefully curated as downloadable podcasts and have been highly rated.

Gwen graduated from Hampshire College with a BA and earned a Certificate in Advanced Advertising from Northwestern University and the 4 A's.

Anna serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Havas Chicago. She’s built a social-first program that eliminates rhetoric and prioritizes original insights, and gives our clients and the agency an unfair advantage over the competition.

For the past 25 years, he has successfully navigated major digital media evolutions and created sustainable growth for clients, agencies, publishers and influencers, carving a unique path for brands and marketers by maintaining a people-focused approach to advertising.

Finnegan has held global digital leadership roles at major agencies including serving as President and Chief Digital Officer at Publicis’ Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), where he was responsible for developing digital strategy, communications products, proprietary tools and technology applications. Before joining SMG, Sean was Chief Executive Officer of Omnicom Media Group’s (OMG) Digital unit, where he led the worldwide management team and developed functional services in media investment, search, mobile, gaming, futures, analytics and ad operations. While at OMG, Sean acquired Resolution Media, a then small SEM firm based in Chicago, which today operates as a global, full-service digital agency powerhouse.

Upon leaving the Agency space seven years ago, Sean became a full-time entrepreneur, building a series of companies and taking them through to financial exits. He first constructed “The C4 Group” (C4), a strategic consultancy designed to guide and grow media and technology companies. C4 was sold to true[X], where he spearheaded the company’s strategy, sales and marketing teams, leading to its acquisition by 21st Century FOX. Finnegan also helped create and launch “DMR”, an advertising analytics firm which was sold to Shoulder Tap Advisors, as well as “co/star”, a social influencer agency, along with partner and entertainer Kevin Jonas, which was acquired by The Engine Group. Sean is currently co-founder and partner of the Chameleon Collective, a global strategic consultancy focusing on the media, entertainment, retail and technology sectors.

Finnegan is committed to mentorship and as such, is a Guest Lecturer at such venerated institutions as Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Northwestern’s Medill Integrated Communications School and more. Sean has also provided Keynote speeches at global advertising conferences such as Sydney’s Ad:Tech, Cairo’s Nielsen 360, India’s GoaFest, The Cannes Advertising Festival, The Wall Street Journal’s “Digital Download” and many more.

For his charitable service, Sean serves as co-founder and board member of the Tom Deierlein Foundation (tdfoundation.org), an organization dedicated to helping provide U.S. Military families and children with their most basic living needs. He also received the distinction of Kentucky Colonel, an honorary commission given by the state of Kentucky to individuals noted for their public service.

James is a 20-year craftsman in the business of turning insights into sharp powerful strategies. At his core, James is a consumer champion, data whisperer and business results agent. He brings his skills to bear on a broad range of blue-chip brands and their challenges -- from burgers to beer, stocks to semi-conductors, telecommunications to tires, cars to credit cards and skincare to software. He also regularly lends his insights on consumers and brands to the business press, and was an expert commentator on the CNBC one-hour special report, “The Oprah Effect.”

James brings to every challenge a passion and persistence to uncover the insight that will tighten the bond between consumers and brands, drive purchase behavior and in turn create sustainable business success for his clients. He has won numerous effectiveness and creativity awards for brands such as Microsoft, McDonald’s, Michelin, Anheuser-Busch/InBev, General Motors, and State Farm.

Sarah Stringer has come quite some way since she started out in London: her first job in media involved booking ads for the UK’s biggest funeral company. After making the move from funerals into the music industry she spent five years in London and then moved to Melbourne, Australia. She joined Carat Australia in 2011 as a strategist, delivering impressive results on brands such as Disney, Nintendo, Adidas and Mattel, including launching movies The Avengers, Frozen and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Identified as a 'Formidable Femme' in Campaign Asia's Women to Watch 2015, she became the youngest member of the agency’s senior management team, founding the Innovation dept. in Australia where she focused on delivering technology and trends insights to agency teams and clients. Stringer joined Carat USA in Jan 2016. Her role as SVP, Head of Innovation sees her lead Carat’s teams in being ‘brave’ in their day to day work by embracing a test and learn framework to understand new ways to achieve business results for our clients.

Shelley Elkins is a senior vice president and executive creative director for Jack Morton, the global brand experience agency. Shelley is an award winning creative, mom, wife, Iowa native, devout Cubs fan and a proud signer of the Time’s UP Advertising open letter. Shelley leads creative for Jack’s Chicago office. She is a writer by trade who brings more nearly 20 years of experience inspiring teams to create attention-getting, results-netting, award-winning work. Her team’s most recent wins include several Clios, Reggies and other awards for COVERGIRL Rantin’ and Raven — the first-ever all-female football pregame show. Prior to joining Jack, Shelley was VP/Creative Director for DigitasLBi in Chicago and San Francisco where she worked with a variety of global brands across the retail, automotive, CPG, health care, and home appliance industries. Shelley earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia. As SVP, Executive Creative Director, Systems and co-head of the Brand AI practice, Matt leads the Systematic Design program at R/GA Chicago and the experiential approach to AI across the North American network. In this position, he is responsible for helping clients identify, define, and design digitally supported services, new products, integrated campaigns and brand design components that impact future growth.

Matt has more than 25 years of product design, service design, and business strategy experience across an eclectic set of roles. He has built three startups as CMO and cofounder. He was the first creative leader in R/GA’s Chicago expansion, growing the office from three employees to its current scale. Before his stint at R/GA, Matt established Gucci’s global e-business presence as the Worldwide Director of E-Division, building teams and digital capabilities across 14 countries and 11 languages. Matt has also previously worked as a global digital systems consultant for companies such as Ermenegildo Zegna, National Geographic, Lego, Staples, Gucci Group, and Brooks Brothers.

Matt has a master’s degree in design planning from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, where he acted as an adjunct professor. He also holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, with a focus on film narrative. An avid outdoorsman and paddler, Matt enjoys finding time to run a river when the currents can compel him.

As Regional Director of Brand Partnerships at Foursquare, April leads the Central Region media solutions team and oversees key strategic client initiatives and creative executions. Having started her career in both agency strategy and client side marketing functions, April spent the last decade leveraging that experience to drive revenue at major publishing, ad tech and big data companies including Tribune Company, The Wall Street Journal, Google, and Quantcast. Since joining Foursquare, April leads a team focused on connecting the dots across big data, ad technology, and marketing strategy to better understand and influence the consumer journey, both online and in the real world.

Having been a guest speaker, curator, and attendee at 100’s of industry events, Chris is an expert at uncovering the best thinking and commonalities across a diverse array of cultures. Applying his expertise to the likes of The White House, Google Launchpad, C2: Montreal, and Omnicom Media Group, his work has been featured in Adweek, Forbes, the New York Times, and Inc., to name a few.

As an industry taste-maker, he currently serves as Director of Omnicom Media Group’s Ignition Factory, the key group responsible for emerging innovations across media, technology, and culture for Fortune 50 clients including Warner Bros, Wells Fargo, The CW, Hilton, Asics and more.

With an early background steeped in stand-up comedy, screenwriting, and production, Chris conceived Innovation Crush in 2013, launching the series in 2014 alongside Levity Entertainment Group. Jennifer Cain is a seasoned media, technology and marketing professional with over 11 years of professional experience.

In her current role as VP, Group Director of Media Technology at DigitasLBi, Jenny is responsible for a staff of 20 media technology professionals, who oversee the operations of more than 15 clients with billings in advance of $100 million dollars annually. She is the regional lead (Chicago/SF) of the Media Technology group for DigitasLBI.

She is known to her colleagues and partners, both past and present, to be a critical team member across any account or project she touches. The experience she has gained throughout her career has made her an in-demand talent for clients such as Sprint, Taco Bell, Bank of America, Whirlpool and many more Fortune 500 and Fortune 250 brands.

Jenny is sought after to pitch and onboard new business, often being the primary educator for clients regarding process and workflow for their media investments. She is a savant at both technical execution and strategic problem solving. Her savvy is often leveraged to help address or avert crisis on some of the most intricate and demanding pieces of business.

In this role Joe leads the Chicago office as to how our clients can leverage digital as a key platform to inform, amplify and engage in ways that provide consumers with meaningful value while driving to the clients’ business objectives. Before joining iCrossingin 2015, Joe was the Managing Director of VML in Chicago, leading their PepsiCo accounts; including Gatorade, Propel and Tropicana. Prior to that he led VML’s Emerging Media Group, developing mobile and social strategies for clients such as Hershey’s, Jägermeister, SAP, Colgate-Palmolive and Tom’s of Maine. Joe also served as the Director of Advertising Innovation at Handmark, a leading mobile startup acquired by Sprint. Willie Jackson has over 10 years of experience using data and analytics to inform media investment strategies, and create value across brands including Kraft Heinz, SC Johnson, U.S. Cellular, ESPN, and Del Monte. Consulting on and delivering advanced analytic solutions around attribution, Willie brings a powerful combination of quantitative knowledge and rigor, with a strong appreciation for how that connects to a client’s overarching business strategy.

Prior to Starcom, Willie worked at Diamond Management & Technology Consultants (now part of PwC), where he provided consulted Telecom, Electronics Retail, Transportation, Consumer Goods, and Financial Services industries.     Sarah Stringer has come quite some way since she started out in London: her first job in media involved booking ads for the UK’s biggest funeral company. After making the move from funerals into the music industry she spent five years in London and then moved to Melbourne, Australia. She joined Carat Australia in 2011 as a strategist, delivering impressive results on brands such as Disney, Nintendo, Adidas and Mattel, including launching movies The Avengers, Frozen and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Identified as a 'Formidable Femme' in Campaign Asia's Women to Watch 2015, she became the youngest member of the agency’s senior management team, founding the Innovation dept. in Australia where she focused on delivering technology and trends insights to agency teams and clients. Stringer joined Carat USA in Jan 2016. Her role as SVP, Head of Innovation sees her lead Carat’s teams in being ‘brave’ in their day to day work by embracing a test and learn framework to understand new ways to achieve business results for our clients.

    Finnegan has held global digital leadership roles at major agencies including serving as President and Chief Digital Officer at Publicis’ Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), where he was responsible for developing digital strategy, communications products, proprietary tools and technology applications. Before joining SMG, Sean was Chief Executive Officer of Omnicom Media Group’s (OMG) Digital unit, where he led the worldwide management team and developed functional services in media investment, search, mobile, gaming, futures, analytics and ad operations. While at OMG, Sean acquired Resolution Media, a then small SEM firm based in Chicago, which today operates as a global, full-service digital agency powerhouse.

    Upon leaving the Agency space seven years ago, Sean became a full-time entrepreneur, building a series of companies and taking them through to financial exits. He first constructed “The C4 Group” (C4), a strategic consultancy designed to guide and grow media and technology companies. C4 was sold to true[X], where he spearheaded the company’s strategy, sales and marketing teams, leading to its acquisition by 21st Century FOX. Finnegan also helped create and launch “DMR”, an advertising analytics firm which was sold to Shoulder Tap Advisors, as well as “co/star”, a social influencer agency, along with partner and entertainer Kevin Jonas, which was acquired by The Engine Group. Sean is currently co-founder and partner of the Chameleon Collective, a global strategic consultancy focusing on the media, entertainment, retail and technology sectors.

    Finnegan is committed to mentorship and as such, is a Guest Lecturer at such venerated institutions as Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Northwestern’s Medill Integrated Communications School and more. Sean has also provided Keynote speeches at global advertising conferences such as Sydney’s Ad:Tech, Cairo’s Nielsen 360, India’s GoaFest, The Cannes Advertising Festival, The Wall Street Journal’s “Digital Download” and many more.

    Gwen's career has been devoted to heightening brand connections throughout the retail environment as consumers move closer to purchase.

    For the past 14 years, Gwen has run The Store at WPP, the world-leading communications services group. WPP companies include some of the most eminent agencies in the business of advertising, media, PR, branding, data analytics and research.

    At The Store, Gwen is responsible for extending WPP’s leadership in retail innovation and supporting global resources for WPP group companies across the Americas and Australasia. The Store serves over 150 WPP companies and their clients, which include Coca-Cola, Ford, Microsoft, Target and Walmart International, to name a few. Gwen is charged with identifying issues and trends most important to retailers and brands around the world.

    In 2010, she led a multi-year study to analyze the capabilities and risk taking of retailers in highly volatile, fast growth markets. This involved extensive field work and top level retailer interviews in South Africa, Turkey, Peru, Brazil, and China. The initiative was funded by Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council in Latin America.

    Gwen started her career in Advertising and worked 10 years at Foote, Cone and Belding and also at Young & Rubicam. She was Managing Director of a retail strategy and design unit at Frankel, that was subsequently merged into Leo Burnett.

    Gwen promotes best practices throughout the retail marketing community and has written numerous articles for business publications including Harvard BusinessReview, Brand Week, and Journal of Brand Strategy where she serves on the editorial board. Her views on retail have been quoted in TheWall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Business Week. Based in Chicago, Gwen is a speaker at many international events including the National Retail Federation. She is also a guest lecturer at Northwestern University, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the University of Arizona’s Center for Retailing, and University of Indiana’s Kelley School of Business.

    Last year, Gwen launched an iTunes U channel to promote leading thinking in Retail Brand Strategy and Innovation. All lectures are carefully curated as downloadable podcasts and have been highly rated.

    Gwen graduated from Hampshire College with a BA and earned a Certificate in Advanced Advertising from Northwestern University and the 4 A's.
